Traditional Saree Drapes | Parsi
Share
The Parsi or Gara-style saree drape was introduced by the Parsi community, Zoroastrians who fled Persia and settled in parts of Gujarat and Mumbai. It blends Persian and Indian styles, creating a distinct cross-cultural aesthetic.
Products used:
This drape features:
- A pallu brought from the back and draped over the left shoulder, similar to the Gujarati seedha pallu style
- An open front display of the richly embroidered pallu
- A structured silhouette worn with a blouse and petticoat
Often paired with heirloom Gara sarees (hand-embroidered with birds, florals, and everyday scenes) this style is more than just attire. It’s an expression of heritage, storytelling and identity, handed down with care through generations.
